PIN ENCRYPTION
Paragon Services currently performs PIN encryption utilizing the DUKPT and 3DES protocols. Encryption takes place prior to shipping your PIN pad or terminal, eliminating delays in the set up of new debit merchants. Paragon Services is proud to be sponsored by Chase-Paymentech as a designated full-service encryption facility. Paragon is a member of the STAR national debit network.
For new merchants with existing equipment, PIN pads are shipped to Paragon for encryption. Please contact Paragon Services and we will provide you with an encryption number, to be included when shipping the PIN pad to our facility. This allows accurate tracking as PIN pads are received and shipped. For your convenience, all equipment is encrypted and return shipped the same day it's received.
INSTALLATION AND MERCHANT TRAINING
Paragon Services routinely provides equipment installation and training with your new merchants. One of Paragon's installation and training specialists contacts the merchant directly via telephone the day the equipment is scheduled to arrive - An appointment is set for a follow up call if the merchant is busy. Step by step instructions are given, ensuring proper installation. Once the installation is complete, a test transaction is performed to verify the terminal can connect for authorizations.
Paragon Services provides our clients with a sample training script that our installation and training specialists use to train individual merchants. Together with our clients, we create training scripts, customized to meet their needs. Merchant training sessions typically run ten to thirty minutes in order to cover all functions of the equipment, fromhow to key transactions properly to daily batch closing procedures. In addition, merchants are given all help desk and voice approval numbers. We can notify you via e-mail once installation and training is complete.
MERCHANT CLUB
Paragon's Merchant Club is a combination of two of our most successful programs: our Equipment Replacement Service and our Supply Club. For a low monthly fee, all Merchant Club members receive overnight replacement of malfunctioning equipment along with paper and ribbon supplies as needed.
SUPPLY CLUB
Paragon Services Inc can package and ship point-of-sale supplies such as paper rolls and ribbons directly to your merchants for a low monthly fee, thus eliminating your need for inventories of supplies. Merchants can contact us directly and all orders are filled and shipped the same day. For your convenience, Supply Club and Equipment Replacement Service can be combined as Merchant Club. All Merchant Club members receive overnight replacement of malfunctioning equipment along with paper and ribbon supplies as needed.
REPAIR SERVICES
Paragon Services Inc can repair your malfunctioning point-of-sale equipment and return it to your merchants quickly and easily through this program. All equipment is repaired with the manufacturer's parts including the latest EPROM chips. Equipment receives new cases and lenses when necessary. All repaired equipment leaves Paragon in like-new condition. Our existing clients are extremely pleased with the quality and timeliness of our workmanship, which is backed by our standard one year limited warranty.
How to get started
This program is extremely easy to start. Just give Paragon Services a call and we will provide you with an RMA number to be assigned to your repairs. The RMA number allows us to quickly identify the origin of the products needing repairs when they are received at our facility, so we can repair them immediately and return them to you or your merchant as quickly as possible, in most cases within 7 business days. The RMA number also serves as a convenient tracking device for checking on the status of equipment being repaired.
EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT SERVICE
Paragon Services can replace broken equipment in the field with functioning equipment through our Equipment Replacement Service. For a low monthly fee, Paragon simply "swaps" out like equipment for the broken one on an as needed basis. The merchant assumes ownership of the replacement unit while Paragon assumes ownership of the broken unit. All replacement equipment is programmed with the appropriate applications and ready to use, then shipped overnight directly to the merchant.

EQUIPMENT DEPLOYMENT SERVICE
This service allows your sales staff to concentrate on selling without the distraction of time-consuming equipment installations and training. In addition, this eliminates the costs associated with managing equipment inventories, programming and testing. Paragon Services Inc also stocks all materials included in a new merchants Welcome Kit (welcome letter, card acceptance stickers, equipment quick reference guide, overlay for terminal, ribbons and rolls, fraud detection materials, etc.). Each Welcome Kit is customized to include specific materials as per your requests.
I. New Merchants Receiving Equipment
All point-of-sale equipment is purchased directly from Paragon's extensive inventory on an as-needed basis, thus eliminating the need for you to carry expensive inventory. Paragon downloads, tests functionality, and ships equipment directly to your merchant's location. Shipments to new merchants include the above-referenced Welcome Kit.) The day the equipment is scheduled to arrive at the merchant's location, the merchant is contacted by one of Paragon's installation and training specialists for instructions on equipment installation and training on all equipment procedures and functionality. Upon completion of merchant training Paragon will send confirmation to you via e-mail.
II. Reprogramming Existing Equipment
In cases where a merchant already owns acceptable equipment, Paragon Services will reprogram that equipment according to your specifications. Paragon assembles and sends the appropriate Welcome Kit to your new merchant, then follows up with the merchant to download client specified merchant application. Again, installation and training is handled by one of Paragon's specialists the day the equipment is to arrive, or at another date and time convenient to the merchant.
